Media Player Classic HomeCinema (x86/x64) - удобный во всех планах мультимедийный проигрыватель. Он построен на базе классического плеера Media Player Classic, и имеет свой интегрированный набор медиа-кодеков, и благодаря этому может проигрывать многие форматы видео/аудио файлов без установки сторонних средств. Этот плеер имеет большое количество различных функциональных возможностей: он умеет воспроизводить DVD диски, умеет аппаратно декодировать популярный формат H.264 на видеокартах последнего поколения, умеет корректно работать со вторым монитором (телевизором), поддерживает различные виды субтитров, умеет работать с  форматами QuickTime и RealVideo и т.д. Плеер имеет небольшой размер и полностью понятный и не перегруженный излишними функциями интерфейс, переведенный на 14 языков.  Имеет полную совместимость с  Windows XP и Windows Vista, причем не только 32- битной версией, но и 64-битной.
 

This project is based on the original "Media Player Classic" and was created after Gabest, the original author, stopped working on it. Several new features have been integrated in this player, such as:

• An option to remove Tearing
• Translation in several languages (currently Czech, French, German, Korean, Hungarian, Russian, Spanish and Turkish)
• Additional video decoders and in particular H.264 and VC-1 with DXVA support (see specific section for details)
• Better support for Windows Vista, including a release for 64 bits platform
• Support for EVR renderer
• Bugs and vulnerability fixes

Изменения / Changes (1603-1613):

• Fix CABAC+PCM, regression in r1592. Changes to queue in CABAC didn't get propagated to PCM code.;
• Fix typo in fake-interlaced documentation;
• Fix calculation of total bitrate printed after stop by CTRL+C;
• Fix ABR rate control calculations. Incorrect frame numbers were used, resulting in slightly inaccurate ratecontrol.;
• Avoid a redundant qpel check in lookahead with subme <= 1.;
• Avoid an extra var2 in chroma encoding if possible. Also remove a redundant if.;
• Faster deblock strength asm on conroe/penryn;
• Slightly faster mbtree asm;
• Detect Atom CPU, enable appropriate asm functions. I'm not going to actually optimize for this pile of garbage unless someone pays me. But it can't hurt to at least enable the correct functions based on benchmarks. Also save some cache on Intel CPUs that don't need the decimate LUT due to having fast bsr/bsf.;
• Overhaul deblocking again. Move deblock strength calculation to immediately after encoding to take advantage of the data that's already in cache. Keep the deblocking itself as per-row.;
• Fix 10L in r1612. Stats need to be calculated before deblock strength, not after. Broke ref stats in x264cli (no affect on actual output).

Media Player Classic looks just like Windows Media Player 6.4, but has many additional features. It has a built in DVD player with real-time zoom, support for AVI subtitles, QuickTime and RealVideo support (requires QuickTime and/or Real Player); built-in MPEG2/SVCD/DVD codec

Xvid (x86/x64, MTK и DivX профили) (ранее «XviD») - библиотека сжатия видео стандарта MPEG-4.

Xvid является основным конкурентом кодека DivX Pro (Xvid это DivX наоборот). В противоположность кодеку DivX — проприетарному программному обеспечению, разработанному компанией DivX, Inc., Xvid это свободная программа, распространяемая под лицензией GNU General Public License. Xvid (x86/x64, MTK & DivX profiles) (formerly "XviD") is a video codec library following the MPEG-4 standard.

Xvid features MPEG-4 Advanced Simple Profile features such as b-frames, global and quarter pixel motion compensation, lumi masking, trellis quantization, and H.263, MPEG and custom quantization matrices.

Xvid is a primary competitor of the DivX Pro Codec (Xvid being DivX spelled backwards). In contrast with the DivX codec, which is proprietary software developed by DivX, Inc., Xvid is free software distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License.[1] This also means that unlike the DivX codec, which is only available for a limited number of platforms[2], Xvid can be used on all platforms and operating systems for which the source code can be compiled.
